We'll be tasting some party wines suitable for the Christmas period, wines for gifts/dinner etc and also some premium wines - for the Christmas Dinner!

Irish Craft Beer Tasting, The Gables Foxrock, Tuesday 18 October
With the huge increase in interest in Craft Beers - particularly Irish ones - and with over 100 Craft Breweries in Ireland (North & South), we though it was about time that we had a proper tasting of the better ones!
The Tasting will be presented by James Winans from Vanguard Beers - a expert (aren't we all!) in the area and someone who knows practically every beer in the country! James was born in Texas and raised on craft beers (and we don't count Budweiser as beer - it's made from rice!).
As with all our Tastings, we'll be sampling and comparing a range of beers across the spectrum from Pale Ales, IPA's, Session beers etc but all with be Irish!
We will be tasting approx 12 beers (in groups of 3 - 3 IPA's, 3 Lager type etc) and we'll have some nibbles to compliment the beers! We'll be finalising the list shortly so check back for more details

Foxrock Festival 2016
t's that time of year again when the Village of Foxrock unites for the Foxrock Festival

When Simon Tyrrell - Ireland's Mr. Rhone - offered to present our next tasting (on Southern Rhone etc) we were delighted, but due to a previous engagement he wasn't free on the original date.
So we've pushed the tasting back by one week to

Silver Medal at the Irish Wine show for a previous vintage, and this newly arrived new vintage is drinking superbly.
Tasting Note: Lemon Green colour with golden hints, clear and bright with intense fruit flavour of pear, apple and peach. On the palate it has integrated acidity and very well balanced. The freshness of the Apple and pear fruit is rapped by the smoothness of the peach which produces a wine of great harmony realisisng crisp sensations and finishing fresh and clean.

A big hit at our recent PORTUGUESE Tasting, this blend of Cabernet, Syrah & Touriga Nacional is soft and rich.
Tasting Note: This blend gives the wine with a deep ruby colour, with intense aromas of dark and red berry fruits, combined with spicy beatiful oak notes from the long ageing in French oak barriques. In the palate, it is fully body, where dark berry fruit notes dominate in a very smooth way, balanced by well integrated and silky oak notes, and finishes very long and also with some tasting spice hints.
