Irish Times recommended again!

Antiguas Reserva Cabernet & Tiki Sauvignon Blanc are both recommended in the Irish Times today.

Tiki Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Marlborough, €14.99
(only €13.99 at McCabes, 10% off when you buy 6 or more in store, Special case offers online!)
This won Noffla white wine of the year. I handed a glass of this to my in-house Marlborough Sauvignon expert, who said “it tastes just like Marlborough Sauvignon should”. So, fresh aromatic with decent clean, green fruits, and a squeeze of lime. This is a well-made wine to enjoy solo or with fish.

Cousino Macul Cabernet Sauvignon Antiguas Reserva 2010, Valle del Maipo, Chile, €14.95
10% off when you buy 6 or more in store, Special case offers online!)
This was named Noffla red wine of the year. It is an attractive medium-bodied cabernet with slightly earthy but elegant blackcurrant fruits, hints of spice and a smooth dry finish. Try it with roast beef or lamb.

Available in both shops and Special case deals online here!

Wine of The Week - Again!

Posted on November 01, 2012 by John McCabe

Delighted to see that another of our wines was reviewed and praised by John Wilson in The Irish Times 27/10/12

Chateau des Karantes 2010, La Clape Lanquedoc €19.99
John said 'Karantes is from La Clape, a rocky outcrop by the Mediterranean coast, which has been recognized as one of the finest places to grow vines. Although founded recently, Karantes has won a string of prestigious trophies and awards. This blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre, with a little Grenache, is rich, voluptuous and rounded with silky dark fruits, some tobacco and spice, and good smooth length.

Only a couple of weeks earlier, he'd picked
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2010, Vigneto Vigne Nuove, Valle Reale €11.99
A nicely aromatic wine with lovely refreshing, bright, brambly, dark cherry fruits, and an attractive tannic nip on the finish
