On Tasting this weekend - and AT A SPECIAL PRICE  of €9.99 (down from €14.99) is the

Les Grandes Vignes Blanc 2011, Cotes du Rhone,
Les Vignerons D’ Estézargues
WAS €14.99 NOW €9.99

Made from  70% Grenache Blanc, 10% Clairette, 10% Bourboulenc and 10% Viognier, it has a pale straw colour with shimmering silver highlights. Scents of pear and mellowing yellow apple dominate the nose and are followed by a note of hay and white flowers. The palade is clean and supple with intense flavors of stone fruit & some tropical fruit flavors as well. The wine finishes with notes of dried apricot, white flowers and wet stones.
(I know I Know, but If you get half those flavours you are still getting a great wine for €9.99!)

Pairing: Works beautifully by itself or with chicken, rabbit, & grilled fish dishes.

Many years ago we sold an earlier vintage of this wine to Mastercard customers, who got very confused as the wine was throwing a sediment - unusual at the time for a good value white. That's because Les Vignerons d'Estezargues operate as a natural winery with no fining, filtering or additional yeasts.
Either way, a cracking wine for a Tenner!!
